The Department of Chemistry at D.B. Pampa College, Parumala is one of the core science departments of the institution, offering a strong academic foundation through its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including B.Sc (Hons) Chemistry, M.Sc Chemistry and M.Sc Industrial Chemistry.
Guided by its vision to achieve excellence in higher education while uplifting socially and economically backward students, the department has grown steadily since it first received affiliation for the B.Sc programme in 1981–82 under the University of Kerala, later becoming affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam from October 1983. The department expanded further with the launch of M.Sc Chemistry in 2001–02 and M.Sc Industrial Chemistry in 2020–21.
Currently headed by Dr. Abhilash N, the department is supported by a team of dedicated permanent and guest faculty who work together to maintain high academic standards. With over three decades of notable achievements, the department continues to thrive through the coordinated efforts of its faculty, non-teaching staff, students, and the support of the Travancore Devaswom Board.
