Two-Day National Seminar on Promoting Democratic Accountability: The Media-Court Nexus (in association with the Department of Commerce)
The Department of English at DB Pampa College and the Department of Commerce, in association with the Institute of Parliamentary Affairs, Govt. of Kerala organized a two-day national seminar titled “Promoting Democratic Accountability: The Media-Court Nexus” from January 8 to 9, 2025. The seminar was inaugurated by Hon. Member of Legislative Assembly Sri Anto Antony and featured insightful sessions by esteemed speakers, including Sri R. Rajagopal, Editor-at-Large of The Telegraph, Prof. Rajesh A. P, Professor, School of Indian Legal Thought, Dr. M. A. Lal, Member Secretary of SLQAC, Dr. Gigy P. V., Associate Professor, School of Indian Legal Thought, Dr. Jayasankar K. I., Professor, Central University of Kerala and Dr. Harikumar S., Assistant Professor, School of Letters. The event drew participation from students within and outside the campus, providing a platform for discussions on the crucial role of media and judiciary in upholding democratic accountability. The seminar was a success, fostering critical thinking and engagement among attendees on the intersection of media, courts, and democracy.
